Taking a Break from Your Caring Role
Shopping, a weekend away, to study or go to work; meeting friends and having time to relax… are all essential activities supporting you to maintain your life outside of your caring role. Carers have said this helps recharge their batteries, ready to carry on with their caring role and research has shown that these activities are of great benefit for the Carer ‘after caring’.
Carers UK describes what ‘taking a break’ can mean; the benefits for you and the person you care-for and the services that are generally available www.carersuk.org/help-and-advice/health/looking-after-your-health/taking-a-break (external site)
