Coronavirus/Covid – 19 Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Licensing

Please be aware that the licensing authority has temporarily amended the processes for the licensing of Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Driver Licences. If your driver or operator licence is due to expire before the 30th September and you haven’t received a letter of instruction, please contact the Licensing Admin section on 01978 729600 or email taxiadmin@wrexham.gov.uk

The licensing of vehicles, new or renewal, 6 month test and MOT will commence from August the 3rd.

Application for a Personal Licence

Amendments made to the Licensing Act 2003 by the Deregulation Act 2015 in relation to personal licences have now been passed by Parliament as follows :

  • The requirement to renew personal licences has been abolished with effect from 1 April 2015.
  • The requirement to report lost or stolen licences to the police before applying for duplicates will be abolished with effect from 26 May 2015.

Objections to Premises/Club Licence Applications

Applicants are required to advertise on the premises and in the local press. These adverts explain how to object if anyone wished to do so.
